Streaky and sometimes unnecessarily inflexible, but with a very pronounced tendency to good to very good. We here in Wöllstadt suffer from a kind of culinary Stockholm syndrome. Due to the lack of local possibilities, we are willing to shower every glimmer of light in the gastronomic darkness with praise and to overlook the shortcomings generously. I want to resist this urge, which is also opening up in me, and write a fair but objective feedback here. Therefore I will start with the negative in order to be able to end my review with the well deserved good. Because although there is a lot of light here, there are also shadows. The lack of flexibility is my top priority here. So the sandwiches are great. But it is incomprehensible to me why the same are not also offered on weekends. An absolute deficit. There are certainly more or less good reasons for this, but as a customer I want consistent service. The fact that drinks are only sold in soft plastic bottles and that the existing glass bottles are reserved for local consumption only, I find it unnecessary for customers to give up. The quality of the service is also mixed. So one or the other service staff is nimble, friendly and reliable and then there are also the negative examples that are hopelessly overwhelmed. Added to this is the understaffing, which is sometimes obvious at peak times. At least the latter could be easily remedied by the operator. The food itself is great - although I was also very disappointed here. For example, the schnitzel has always been big, crispy and delicious. Last time, however, I had a completely different picture: hardly as big as the bread roll, much too bright and bland. The same applied to the otherwise good meatballs. Please don't let it become a standard. The fact that the location is hopelessly overcrowded, especially on weekends and sunny days, and that an unpleasant acoustic level prevails due to many families with children, is not a criticism, but a factor to be considered for potential interested parties. After the negative, I now come to the positive. You can feel that the operators stand behind their bistro with heart and hand. The dishes are - apart from the mistakes mentioned - simply delicious and varied. I can also only welcome the fact that there are now changing hot dishes in addition to the opulent breakfast selection. These are usually very tasty and reasonably priced. The sundaes can easily match or even exceed those of other ice cream parlors. This also applies to the quality of the ice. Bakery and confectionery products are consistently high quality and always fresh. The mentioned sandwiches are delicious, richly topped and can also be served on request - great! Therefore, I can make a recommendation with a clear conscience, which I would like to address not only to Wöllstadt residents. Anyone who commutes here or is looking for a nice place to have breakfast will find it here.
